Amazing, low-prep project!
This is my first year as an elementary teacher, and I was looking for a fun, inexpensive, and low-prep activity to do for my Winter Holiday Party this December. I have 22 students, so I purchased three packs of the snowman making kits. Let me tell you- this was the easiest, no prep project for my students, and they had such a great time building their own snowmen! The clay was very easy for students to use and build the snowman, and it did not leave any mess on the tables. An added bonus was that each of the accessories were prepackaged, so after each student built the base of their snowman, I just had to hand them one bag with all of the supplies they needed to decorate. I will definitely be purchasing this in the future for my winter class parties! 10/10 recommend!

Not enough accessories!
These Build a Snowman kits are really cute and fun for kids. The picture shows that you’ll only receive 3 Santa hats & 3 scarfs, but I didn’t notice that until my order showed up. The real bummer is that for the 9th snowman, I didn’t have any accessories. They shorted me one package that has a top hat, buttons, nose, and arms. I only received 8 accessory packages! Super bummed because I can’t order more in time for Christmas, so now my daughter doesn’t get one in her stocking. Overall this is a great item to purchase if you need a small, cheap, fun gift for several kids.

So cute!
I got this to hand out as a party favor for a Frozen themed birthday party. Each snowman’s parts were pre-bagged, which made my job so much easier. I do wish it came with more scarves and Santa hats. It only had 3, but it had enough black hats for each set.

Toddler Fun
I saw this on an Instagram post. Took a chance! My 4 year old and 2 year old (with help) loved it. The clay was easy to manipulate, clean and we put it back in the plastic container to use again.

Snowmen do not hold their shape
This was such a fun, cheap, easy and mess free craft. But so disappointing that the snowmen only hold their shape for a couple of minutes no matter what you do.

Fun
I made these with a small senior group in assisted living. I read in the reviews that the snowmen smush down. We used a toothpick to attach the body of the snowman to the head, hoping to make them a little more upright. We also added a pipecleaner as a scarf, which we thought was cute. As a benefit, the pipecleaner made the snowmen a little more stable.

Cute project for different age groups.
My 4 year old grandson and 9 year old granddaughter had fun playing with these. I am saving 3 for my co- workers because I think they will enjoy it. There was only 3 scarves, I would have liked one for each pack of clay.

Snowman craft
This was fantastic for use with my speech patients ages 2-15. Easy enough for the little ones with some help (most of the 2-4 year olds got distracted rolling the clay 😁) but enough variety and potential to be creative that the older ones loved it too. I especially liked the clay was already segmented and in individual containers. I did wonder why only 3 scarves were provided instead of enough for ll the kits. I ended up with an extra box so I’m hoping the clay won’t dry out before next year.

Super cute! Would buy again!
Bought for my 3 yr old granddaughter. She made these cute snowmen herself! She loved this project. They dry hard within 24 hours. Perfect to save for years to come! Can make a lot of snowmen with this kit. *Tip… As they dry they tend to lean backwards a tiny bit. When they are completely dried they will stand straight up much better if their backside is propped against a hard surface while drying.

I like the product but think it’s strange that it doesn’t come with enough scarfs or Santa hats to do a few different ones so we just left them out of the party favors since I didn’t think it’s fair to the children.

Such a fun craft!
I bought this craft to do with my granddaughter, and my great nieces and nephews they had a blast with it! The only negative comment I have is there was only three scarves in the kit, but you could make nine snowman. The kids told me this was the most fun craft they have done during the holidays, which is a tradition for us to do at the holidays.

perfect little gifts!
The grandchildren of some of my co workers will love these. I’ll wrap separately so 6 will enjoy them. I’m a little confused it says mold clay one bag modeling clay? They come in three little containers so you combine 2 to make one big ball and one small for the head? You dress the snowman while he is wet them let it dry, not reusable but put away for storage? Can someone pls email with these answers….I thought this was going to be simple…maybe not? Thank you

Cute little snowman craft for the kids
This kit is super cute and fun for all ages.. my 2,3 and 7 year old all had a blast making these! We made one big snowman and one small one for each kid. If you wanted you could probably get a snowman out of each white puffy container. If you want an easy and mess free craft this is it! I did have to use glue to put on the scarf and hats but my kids loved it !

Expensive but Fun!!
These kits were perfect for our Christmas party snowman contest. We ordered double the amount to make sure there was plenty of clay and extra hats & scarves. So in the end, it was quite pricy but the kids had fun. We also used pieces from around the house. The “clay” was very satisfying to work with. It would not be super messy with young kids.We found that it worked better if we reinforced connecting pieces with toothpicks and had to lean up against something while drying. We had quite a few that slowly fell over if not perfectly balanced.The price is the only reason for 4 stars. That being said, we will likely do this again.

Fun, but not enough accessories
My kids had the best time making snowmen.There were only 3 scarfs, so those were a hot commodity when we were all building.The snowman with three balls needed two of the snow containers.Hats did not stay on and Santa hats did not fit (used hot glue)Overall they were lots of fun and I’d order again.

I bought this for my daughters winter classroom party, the kids had a lot of fun with them but the Santa hats didn’t stay on so a lot of kids got frustrated and ended up trading for the black hats.

Clay would not hold shape – womp, womp
It’s a cute idea and my 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed making the snowmen, but the next day, the snowmen were in a pile of runny clay. I tried rsheping the snowmen so my granddaughter would not be disappointed, but within a few hours, they started to lose their shape.

This was a great little project for my kids! They enjoyed it and it wasn’t messy! The only problem is that the hats do not stay on once the clay is dry, but I think a little super glue would fix that.

These do not keep their shape
I got these to put inside waterless globes. The directions say they air dry within 24 hours. They lost their shape and fell flat so they were a waste to use inside a waterless globe. I tried several times and each time they did not dry hard enough to retain the “snowman” shape:(

Melted snowmen
My 4 year old had fun assembling but then got a little upset that the snowmen “melted” but then laughed it off. It would have been worth it if they kept their form, I was hoping to use them as little homemade decor.

Really thought it was a cute class gift. Only problem is that there is 9 snowman and only 3 scarfs and 3 Santa hats. It does come with 9 top hats and everything else.I just took the Santa hats and scarfs out and used the rest.

Great little craft
I intended this to be a sit down family project for all 8 members of our family, I sat it on the table and they came a few at a time and had very precious moments making the most wonderful snowmen but even better Christmas memories. Even the grumbleist of them caught them selves join in and making melted puddles with arms and faces. It really was great fun. It will become a tradition at our house. I will try to remember pictures next time.

Fun toy!
My kindergarteners loved this toy! But, it’s important to note that the set of 9 snowmen only comes with 3 Santa hats and 3 scarves, not enough for every Santa to have a full set for costume changes.

Snowmen Melted
Grandson was so disappointed as finished snowmen began to shrink in size, almost melt, just a short time after completing. They did not hold their shape. I thought the clay was to harden not lose form. Please advise.

Very Disappointing Craft Kit
I was really excited to give this snowman craft kit to my kids for Christmas, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The clay included in the kit was dry and crumbly, making it impossible to shape and mold properly. The snowman pieces that were supposed to be used for the eyes, buttons, and accessories were small, flimsy, and didn’t stick well to the clay.The instructions were unclear and hard to follow, and my kids quickly became frustrated trying to figure out how to assemble the snowman. It ended up being a waste of time and energy. The kit claimed to be fun and creative, but instead, it just caused a mess and left us disappointed.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It doesn’t live up to the quality or the promise of a fun, easy craft. Definitely not a good stocking stuffer or gift. Save your money for something that actually works.

Disappointed — Epic Fail
I wanted to love this kit. I had a blast creating snowmen with my granddaughter but when we set them up to dry they basically deflated and turned into a melted Frosty. I even used toothpicks to keep the snow balls standing straight to no avail. Epic fail. It was well packaged and plenty of accessories but if they turn in to puddles it’s not worth the money. The temp in our home was 68 degrees Fahrenheit so shouldn’t have been too warm but just in case we made new ones and put in a really cold room and had the exact same result. Luckily my 2yr old granddaughter didn’t see them at the end.

Fun but lacking a bit
We all had fun with this. The material was easy to work with and allowed for some creativity. When drying, however, they sagged, so the end product wasn’t how it started out. Also, I’m baffled as to why there were only 3 scarves included when there is enough material for 9 snowmen. I had to tell 6 people they couldn’t have scarves. That didn’t make sense to me.

Very tiny pieces
Pieces are very small, it takes more than one container of the foam to make a single snowman unless you want a very tiny one. Overall it’s “okay” but plan on making less snowmen than the product shows

Didn’t Quite Meet the Goal
The snowmen you create are pretty small. Every snowman a daycare child made ended up sinking/shifting so what started out as 3-4″ tall ended up being 2-1/2 to 3″ tall. The best way to describe it: the clay wasn’t firm enough to hold its shape during the drying time. Air-dry clay would have worked much better.

I got this for my nieces and nephew (10, 8, 6) and they all really enjoyed this! The snowmen ended up super cute (if a bit melty-looking) too, but it made for an enjoyable 45 minutes while we all played. Worth the price for an artsy, non-iPad activity!

Instructions are very vague.
The instructions need to include the importance of compressing the putty very firmly. The snowmen melt as they dry if there is any air left in them. The black hats needed to have some sort of pin to insert into the putty. Otherwise they fall off. There needs to be a better mouth. The string was very difficult for even an adult to get to stick. On the plus side, the kids had fun with them. They just needed a lot of adult help to get them to look good.

Great fun for all ages and NO MESS
For the past 3 years I have bought these darling snowmen for my grandkids ages 2-9 to make on Christmas Eve. I buy extra because my adult kids want to make them too. We build them and then take a picture with the kids holding the snowman. After the first year my grandkids asked if we were making snowmen again. I was going to do something different but now I guess its a tradition to make the snowmen. The best thing is there is NO MESS.
