Loose candy!
I purchased two of these because Aldi was sold out of their $2 chocolate advent calendars. I thought I had saved a Christmas tradition by finding these. Unfortunately, the chocolate in both calendars was all loose. There is no guarantee that the flap you open with have a candy so you have to tilt it to try to find one. This item is not returnable due to food safety reasons but the fact that the item does not work as intended should be reason enough to modify the policy. I see reviews from two years back complaining of the same issue. Thankfully, my children didn’t complain but it sure bothers me for the price. At 3.5 times the cost of Aldi’s advent calendars, I expected a lot more.

Design cute, taste of “chocolate” not good.
The verses on the inside of the windows are a nice bonus. The design of the exterior was cute. Gift able, yes, but do not purchase for the taste of the “chocolate”. Otherwise, as expected.

Damaged & can’t return
Well the calendar looks exactly like the picture. Very cute. But it was a little crunched. The shipping box was in perfect condition. It was only the calendar itself that was damaged. So all of the little chocolates were popped out & loose. I tried to do a return but apparently it’s ineligible for returns. Very disappointed.

The candy fell out of the tray
So, the whole point of an advent calendar is to be able to open a door each day for candy, but the candy fell out of the gray before the first day. I had to razor open the box, fix all of the candy and then it did it again. I fixed it again- having to match each shape to a see through gray was not fun. Anyway, I can’t hang this thing up and have to store it flat so that I don’t have to continually put the candy back in the gray. Lest there be any confusion, we’re not talking about 1-2 pieces. Every single chocolate falls out every single time the box is turned any direction other than flat on its back.

Chocolates all in one place after shipping
I was hopeful when these advent calendars arrived, sealed in plastic wrap, that they would be a great little surprise for my kids. Unfortunately, the chocolate candies are not ‘wedged’ into the tray behind each window and during shipping they all fell to one corner of the calendar. So, when we opened a window, no chocolates. 🙁 My sons ended up opening all the windows and finding the chocolates all in a group under one corner of the calendar! They ended up just ripping the thing apart, taking out all of the chocolates, and will eat ‘one’ piece per day for the ‘advent calendar’ experience. VERY disappointed and won’t be purchasing again. BTW chocolates taste as expected…nothing great but nothing horrible either.

Bad packaging
While this was so cute and nostalgic, the trays don’t hold the chocolate very well, we found the chocolates went sliding down to the bottom of the package so our kids had days they opened and it was empty.

Don’t recommend, quality is not there.
I ordered these advent calendars trying to relive a piece of my childhood and share with my wife, I am thoroughly disappointed. The first calendar looked like someone stepped in the middle of it. You could hear the loose chocolates rattling around in the box. I had to open it and place all the pieces back where they went so I at least had one functioning advent calendar. The other one looked good on the outside but on the inside, the chocolate looks like it’s been in the box for 100 years, it’s chalky in texture and falls apart when you pick it up. Needless to say, I won’t be buying again and recommend you don’t either.

Needs improvement
Chocolate was enjoyed by my grandson but it was all loose and not behind the doors on the calendar. Have to shake a candy out every day. Very disappointing since that was the whole purpose of product.

Not bad, Not great
This advent caledar was ok. I had bought because we had been telling my son about Christmas and Santa since probably October and I wanted a way for him to see that this Christmas thing was actually going to happen eventually! I thought this would help him visualize how much longer he had to wait. Unfortunately, the little doors are just hidden within the picture, so I don’t think it was easy to glance at and give an idea of how many were left. Also, his little 2 year old hands could not get the little doors open without some help. Though, one day when he was with my mom, he somehow managed to get ahold of it and eat several chocolates… funny how that works… Anyway, it was cute, and he enjoyed getting a new chocolate each night, but it didn’t exactly accomplish what I had hoped. I will probably invest in a re-usable advent calendar if I can find one on sale and fill it with my own chocolate next year.

Vermont Chocolate Christmas Calencdars
I liked everything about this product. I have gave chocolate Christmas calendars to my children, then my grandchildren and now purchase them for my great grandchildren. First introduced to them in Europe. Those I ordered contained candy made in Vermont, which I thought was great and they were eagerly received and are being very much enjoyed.

Yearly Christmas Tradition
My kids are obsessed with these! They are cheap, arrive in perfect condition, ship quickly, and best of all are shrink wrapped so we know they are not tampered with. I would recommend these and I do to anyone and everyone. They are from Vermont which I think is great to have products made in the US

Delish but average.
The chocolate is very tasty and the designs and poems are neat. I just feel like the $6 each that I paid was a little much, it’s nothing too special.**All 3 of ours were delivered with most of the chocolates at the bottom, not an easy thing to open and put back together. Not manufacturers fault… but happens with shipping possibly.

No candy in day one
I got this for my son and on December 1st when he opened the first day there was no candy in the door. Many of the chocolates are popped out and we had to shake the package for one to come into view for him to have his treat. This is very disappointing! This really detracts from the experience of an advent calendar

Loose chocolate
these were ok, however, during shipping, the chocolates came loose from their compartments and were all just rattling around in the box. I had to open the top of the box, re-set the chocolates, and close the box back up. They still were not completely seated and we had to open each tab with care to keep them from falling out again.

Candy not in place!
The candy sheet had come unglued and the candy pieces were in the bottom and one piece was in the front of the plastic covering. Not something to give as a gift! Once taken apart, unable to glue it back inline with the windows. Waste of my money! So sad, as I have ordered these in past years without this problem.

Candy is not secured behind each number- made kids cry!
The box is defective because upon opening #1 yesterday Dec 1, there was nothing there- it was empty. Upon searching you could tell the candy had fallen to the bottom of the whole box. Resulted in tears. No way to retrieve the fallen candy without opening the whole box and destroying the concept. When I looked inside I could tell may dates were missing candy that had fallen. This is NON-RETURNABLE so buy at your own risk. So disappointing and a waste of money.

The kids were disappointed
I was a little disappointed in these. The chocolates slid around in the packaging so when my kids went to open each day it might or might not have chocolate in it. They need to improve the packaging next time around it wasn’t all that great

What’s the point?
This is the second time I’ve purchased one of these from this seller. The candies/chocolates are in little molds behind each perforated door that you open. The cardboard isn’t stuck to the plastic that the chocolate is in, so during the shipping process the chocolates come out of their little mold and float around between the cardboard and the plastic. When you open the doors the chocolate is no longer there and you have to rip into the cardboard in order to get your chocolate piece. I’m disappointed because I complained about this a few years ago. You think they’d figure out how to package these so they don’t do that. And for whatever reason I ordered two of these. One is returnable, the other is not. The one that the candies are all messed up in is the nonreturnable one.

Such a bummer! All of the chocolates in these calendars were displaced. On December 1 when my son opened the first door there was no chocolate. Upon inspection most of the chocolates fell out of their spots and have collected in the edges of the calendar. I ordered 3 of these. It’s the same in all 3. This item is not eligible for return. I had to go out and buy three more advent calendars.

Not the cheapest
Ordered this and a second one just like it with a different scene. Chocolates were fallen out of that one but not this one. They’re essentially the same though so could have happened to this one as well. Also found them at hobby lobby for half the price a week later so lesson learned for next year…

Chocolates Loose in the Package – Not Worth the Money!!!
I read the reviews after I placed the order – and immediately regretted placing the order! If you like arts and crafts products and putting stuff back together multiple times, then this is the product for you! I had not seen advent calendars in my local store and didn’t want to chance not having them for my kids by December 1, so I ordered these. They have obviously sat in a warehouse with no temperature control. The glue has separated from the plastic and the cardboard. All the chocolates were at the bottom of package. As they moved around in the package, most of them have had some damage. I had to open it up and redistribute the chocolates to the appropriate spot. And every time I get it out for my kids to open the day’s section, they shift again. We had to open one back up today and put the chocolates back in their spots. This was a really disappointing purchase. So save your money – this wasn’t worth the hassle.

Grandson enjoyed the chocolate.
This would have had 5 stars but when we opened the package all the pieces were not in their openings so we had to take it apart and replace each chocolate to the correct spot. It had to be kept flat on a table so the chocolate wouldn’t come out of its spot again. Other than that our Grandson enjoyed opening his treat every day.

Tasty chocolate advent calendar
My 5 and 2 year old kids both loved their advent calendar. My kids loved the chocolate so im sure it tastes great! KID TESTED, KID APPROVED!Be aware, you probably will have to reset all the chocolate pieces back into their proper place. Shipping something like this pretty much guarantees one or more to fall out. Open the bottom, slide out, reset and tape shut. Didn’t have an issue with it again.

Chocolate Christmas Countdown
Every year I buy my daughter and her roommate chocolate advent calendars and every year these arrive – great chocolate calendars at a good price. I also bought two for my son and his roommate who had never had a candy advent calendar. When it arrived, my son sent me a video of his roommate dancing around with his advent calendar because he was so excited.. Great artwork, tasty chocolate, wonderful for creating Christmas memories.

Terrible
All of the chocolate are lose in the box and likely broken! I can hear them all shaking around and are not in their proper box to be opened. This was from our elf on the shelf for our kids and they will be so disappointed when they aren’t in the days. I but these every year and looks like it will be my last bc the quality gone down hill.

Completely useless as an “advent calendar”
HORRIBLE! My son absolutely loves opening each day’s window to find what shape of chocolate is revealed. Not this year. This thing is so flimsy and all of the chocolates popped out of their square, so now most of them are just freely flopping about throughout the whole box. He was so disappointed that the “window of the day” was blank, and we had to shimmy one of the random pieces over to get it. DO NOT BUY.

Old & Broken
On delivery all the chocolates had become displaced and were loose inside the calendar. It was clear the calendar was old. The glue that attaches the paper to the plastic tray ( which keeps the chocolates in place) had clearly lost its stick. And the chocolates themselves showed signs of aging with a white powdery finish instead of a chocolate brown color. Very disappointing.

NOT RETURNABLE! WILL LIKELY ARRIVE DAMAGED AND YOU”RE STUCK.
Note that for some reason, this product is not returnable for “food safety reasons.” However, other similar products from the same company can be returned. There are many complaints for this product falling apart during shipment so there are loose pieces of chocolate. Probably not a coincidence that Amazon doesn’t allow returns and makes refunds difficult. Avoid at all costs! Not a quality product.

Update…
Update-The company was great and gave me a total refund. Awesome customer service! All the candy had fallen out of the advent calendar. When my granddaughter opened the doors, there was no candy there. It had all fallen down to the bottom. I don’t know if this was in packing or shipping, and it won’t let me do a return or refund.
