If you shut these off for the day (dawn to dusk timer) they have to be reset for the mode you want.
I dislike having to reset the mode I want every time these come on. For me this means going outside in the snow… I will not use these after this year and will be returning the package that I have not used. These would be fine for inside or if they came with a remote.

Steady on should be default
Default should be steady on or the last mode selected. Cycling through all 8 choices sucks.Other than that they’re nice. It’s a lot of money for lights and the description should be better.

Not great for outdoors
While it says waterproof in description, the plug is not and short circuited the lights. They are a great deal for inside, but it’s not feasible to have the adaptor inside and lights outside.

Nice lights
I love everything about these lights. The only thing I’d change if I could is the light color itself. The photos make it look like a warm, golden color but they are actually not as warm as the photo.

The old school C9 look!
I just received the lights today and plugged in a string to check them out. I like different sequences to choose from and my gf loves them. One string goes a long way, 65 ft. Hope they last a few seasons.

Love these lights
These lights are awesome! Very easy to hang up and don’t get tangled easily. I got two boxes of the 100ft and was able to do the whole front of my house and along the bushes. Very bright & I love the settings. Also, I really like how there’s several feet at the end to be able to plug it into an outlet without having to stretch it. Much much better than the regular cheap Christmas lights you get from the store.

Pretty awesome
Very bright and exactly as described! Only gave 4 starts because they don’t stay on a setting you choose, which can be annoying but it’s not a huge deal for us. We are happy with the look, feel and function for what we needed it for.

These have 8 different patterns. Only bad thing, it does not SAVE your favorite selection. You must set it each and every time they turn on.

Not great, not awful
They might as well take the blue bulbs out of the package because they’re so dim they can barely be seen. Not really worth it, in my opinion. I wouldn’t buy them again.

Bright lights
I had ordered 8 sets of these lights & only 6 of them worked. The 6 that did work were bright as I had expected. It has 8 different modes & I believe I’ll use different modes throughout the Christmas season to give the appearance a change. Multi-color. Will send the 2 back for replacement.

Love the lights. Only issue was two of the color bulb covers were missing :(I realized this after half hung up. Hid it in the line. But suggest checking them before installing.

Listed length is inaccurate
Important to know that the listed 81ft distance includes 17ft of lead cable. The lights are only about 64ft. Same for the 50 light set, 49ft includes 17ft of lead cable, so it’s only about 32ft of lights.

Great lights, awfully excited light modes!
I have had one set of lights for two seasons now and no issues. Ordered another set because of the price. Gave three stars based on how the light modes are set up. There is no memory for last used setting. Also, mine are on an automatic wifi timer so everytime they turn off then back on they default to the #1 flash mode. I would prefer the #1 setting to be just on, not flashing through every setting. I have to manually change it every night defeating the purpose of the automatic timer. Another thing I’ve seen is there was supposed to be a remote? Neither of my sets came with a remote.

Look great, but no mode memory.
These like look great and have worked great for the past week. They would get 5 stars but they only remembered the mode you select when you use the built-in 6 hours on – 18 hours off timer. If you turn them off any other way, then they will use the default mode when you turn them back on. All of my other lights are on a smart plug timer. I got around this issue by plugging these in for the first time when the others are scheduled to turn on and enabling the timer. I then scheduled the rest of my display to turn off six hours later. So far so good.

Only 64ft!!
I bought these since I would only need one set, thinking it was 81ft of lights and we need 74ft to do the front of the house as pictured. I take accountability that I didn’t pay close attention to the actual length of lighted area, but I wish it was better advertised that it was 64ft of lights and a veryyy long blank cord to the plug in part. We improvised this year and will add another set next year or do the grinch stealing the lights trend! The functions are a little wonky but my kids love them and they’re bright enough. Overall we are satisfied with product!

They Look Great
They look great from close up or far away. They can be clearly seen from long distances. One note-make sure to hand tighten each bulb before hanging the lights on the tree, like you would do with any set. I found about 1 in 10 needed hand tightening. The tree pictured is about 10 feet tall and I used 3 sets of lights connected together.I would recommend them and I would definitely buy them again.

Be aware that steady on is not the default mode
I bought two of these with the intent of using them with a smart controller. The controller on these has several modes, but the default is an annoying flashing between the two different color sets. Would not care if I could set the mode and have it stick to it, but every time the power shuts off it defaults back. I even went so far as to try to by the steady on controller from the same manufacturer, but it would only power half of the lights so I returned the whole thing and am now looking for a better alternative.Simple fix would be to make steady on the default, but maybe that is just my preference…

Great value for the low sale price.
Put these up Nov and they have worked great for over a month; 8 hours a night. Can not answer about the remote because I did not get one but I still can change the light modes with a button on the wire. These lights shine bright but do not overwhelm you. Love old fashion looks. Yes, very easy to hang outside.

Solved settings retention problem
I figured out why some people have been asking about these lights remembering settings and why some people say they do, yet others keep experiencing the problem. If you plug the lights into a separate timer, then every time they turn on, the lights default to the first setting and cycles through all combinations. If you want to always use one of the eight settings, you need to keep them plugged in with power continuously. You’ll need to use the built in timer it comes with (6 hours on, 18 hours off).As for my review, they’re pretty good. Lots of lights and length for a decent price. The blue and green always blink together as do the yellow and red. This isn’t too bad, but the twinkle function is more like back and forth between the two color schemes. The twinkle is a bit fast. It says there are 8 functions, but a few seem rather identical. Nonetheless, there is some variety and you should be able to find a mode you like.A note of caution, I got 3 of the 100 bulb versions, connected them together, and greatly underestimated how easy it is to tangle over 240 ft of string lights. So, stay organized.

Happy with purchase. Perfect for what I wanted.
Was hesitant to buy these LED C9 lights, since I wanted to set them up to turn on/off automatically, but wanted to keep the steady-on setting by default. After reading some of the reviews stating these will not save the mode you want to keep, I looked at other options, but decided to take a chance with these anyway. Given the price I opted to just deal with having to change the setting manually, so I purchased three 100 LED strings for my roof. After installing and having to change the setting manually for a couple of days, I started looking for options to keep them steady-on by default. I found some old LED controllers we had from previous years and compared the volt/amp specs and found one with the same power ratings, but able to maintain the set mode after turn off/on!This is the LED controller I’m using now, although I didn’t buy it from Amazon.Model: JT-EL/FC300V0200, 30V Output 0.2 Ampshttps://www.amazon.com/Controller-FC300V0200-C-Multifunctional-Transformer-Voltage/dp/B0BG46B73W?th=1I’m only using one controller, since all my strings are connected together. Hope this helps anyone else considering these lights, but not liking the fact that the controller does not stores the set mode after power reset. Even if they only last for a year, I’m ok with the purchase. Happy Holidays!

You get what you pay for!
First of all I would like to say I bought these lights to put on a home in Minnesota. I purchased 3 100′ strands and 1 50′ strand and daisy chained them together. They do get a bit more dim with 350′ all connected but not terrible. Upon opening the package, the first thing I noticed what how cheap the wiring felt. The lights do say for indoor/outdoor use so I was expecting a bit more girth for the wiring. To my astonishment, they made it through the first Minnesota winter just fine. The modes are kind of cool but some might say they are a bit much with all the blinking and flashing in a few of the modes. I do greatly appreciate the built in timer which prevents me from having to buy a timer or smart plug. I’m rating them 4 stars for now but we will see how they tolerate the second winter. Based on my knowledge of wiring, I’m betting against them but we shall see. They are much cheaper than other lights so I guess I shouldn’t have expected the most solid product. You get what you pay for!

Pretty and Smart!
The bulbs are large, which is what i wanted. I put them on my porch garland. The bulbs are so large I didn’t need to decorate my garland with more pine cones. I purchased the warm. They look great at night and love the different modes you can choose for them to twinkle. The best feature that made my husband happy, was they are LED. Because they uses less power than our old lights we do not have to re-set our beakers any longer. WIN WIN!

Very short life.
I bought this product back in August. I bought four packages. I tested the lights out for 10 days before unplugging to save them for the holiday season. I plugged them back in this past Saturday 11/23 and 160′ would not light up. Last night 11/24, only one 81′ strand was lit. This product is CRAP. I am so disappointed.

Great lights but there is one major setback
We got these last year for Christmas and have been decently happy with them. The price was the biggest selling point. Much less than you would find for this length at any store. I was hoping for a little bit higher quality wire but I guess that’s how they can be so affordable. The first set that I got the wire was already broken so I had to send them back and get another. I don’t think they were used, but I just believe the wires are very thin.I like that they have multiple patterns to choose from and that its easy to change them. It’s nice that you can link several strands together for your needs, as well as the fact that they sell them in different lengths. The colors are vivid and the lights are in a plastic housing vs glass, so the chances of breaking the exterior is low.We use a smart outlet to control them and that’s where the downside comes in…. The lights don’t default back to the setting that they were on last, they just start on a random program. So I have to manually adjust it every day. It got to the point that I just let them do their thing because it was too much of a bother to adjust them every single day. It doesn’t bother me to the point where I would spend more money to get different lights but definitely would mark them down a little on the rating for that.

Very nice with only four minor issues.
These are very nice lights. They are well manufactured and bright. I purchased three strands and the lights worked on all of them. They can be daisy chained together which help the wiring out for one side of our house. There were only four issues that we had with them.First some of the bulb covers were not screwed completely in. They fell to the floor went unwrapping the strand of lights. That was okay except in addition to the bulb cover there is a white plastic insert that also falls out that would be easy to miss or lose. This piece of plastic appears to hold the bulb housing in place when the bulb is fully screwed in. Out of three strands of lights I had five bulbs that did this and I lost two of the white pieces in the grass. Everything assembled fine but I’m sure it would be easy for some of the bulb housings to fall off. So when you unpack yours be sure to check them all before stretching them out in the yard. Once the loose bulbs are screwed in everything works fine.Second it has a very nice timer function but unfortunately is fixed for 6 hours of operation. Here in the Pacific Northwest it gets dark around 4:30 and we would like the lights to come on around that time if not earlier. Unfortunately that means the lights will shut off around 10:00 and we would like them to stay on a little later. We wish the timer was 8 hours instead of 6 basically. To make the lights run longer we had to connect them to a switch so we can manually turn them off and on.The bulbs have several very nice patterns that are selectable by pressing a button. Unfortunately, using a switch to turn them off and on causes them to forget this setting and they revert to the first pattern which is definitely not our favorite. We will have to live with this for now if we wish to use the lights longer than 6 hours at night. Finally, one of the strands had exposed wiring where the insulation had stripped away. The wires appeared to be soldered together which I have to assume was some hack done at manufacturing to get the lights out the door. I wrapped this section in black vinyl electrical tape and it should work fine but it seems like a quality control issue.Other than these problems they seem to work great and look very nice on our house.

They have four functions
I have used them to decorate an outside tree. I turn the lights off during the day. When the lights are turned back on you have to go through the functions every time to put the lights back on the way you want them. There is no way to set and stay.

Don’t bother
Where to start….. Packaging was a nightmare to unravel. the cord to the outlet is insanely long so plan on having coiled cord wherever this is going. It can only be the end of a string as there is no further connection to other strings at the end. For some reason its attempting to be “smart” by auto timing on and off as well. Just crap.

4 Strands Burnt out in a MONTH!
I bought 6 boxes of these lights in October & they worked great for 2 weeks. 2 Strands burnt out in the front of my house after 2 weeks & now 2 strands have burnt out on the back of my house! The only ones that are still working are on the covered deck….. These are obviously NOT meant for outdoor use!Complete waist of money & TIME.

faulty wiring
I bought these lights last year (2023) and they worked well. This year when putting up the lights two strings were unusable because the wires broke from the connection to the lights and were not fixable. Be careful when buying this product, the wiring is very fragile and breaks away from the lights very easily.

Not as bright, kind of wonky patterns when daisy chained
Not as bright as I thought they would be and some of the covers came unscrewed. They’re color led’s under the covers so that’s probably why they aren’t as bright. Would have been much brighter using a solid white led. Also, I hooked three sets together and for whatever reason, set 2 follows the opposite color pattern from the rest of the sets (instead of following set 1 and lighting amber/red, blue/green, it was doing blue/green, amber/red.) Even when I switched it out, set 2 was opposite from the rest. I had to put in a whole bundle of lights in between sets 1 and 2 to have the pattern sequence correct from the street. That was frustrating.

Caution!!! Settings will not stay if using an external timer!
First off, these lights performed as stated and looked very nice. There is just one HUGE flaw. They have 8 different modes, and all except one involve some sort of flashing. The first day we turned them on, we set it to the ‘just stays on’ mode. The next day when they turned on via our external timer, they went back to cycling through all of the flashy modes. You can manually change it back to the mode you want, but it will have to be done every day. The point of putting them on a timer is so I don’t have to mess with them everyday. After day 3, I was over it and just took them down and returned them. It’s a shame, because I liked them otherwise, but the constant reverting to flashy mode is a total deal breaker.

Good lights But default settings aren’t great.
First I would like to say these lights work great and are very bright. My gripe with them is a little ticky tacky but basically you have to use the built in timer (6hours on, 18hours off) or the settings reset every time you use the lights. What I mean by that is, say you want the lights on for 8 hours or want to use your own timer (a wifi one with remote control), well if you do that the lights default to the first setting which is flashing. We wanted setting 7 or 8 and only way to do that with a timer of your own is to walk to the lights and toggle through each until you get the desired setting. This can be inconvenient if your lights are on a roof for example. Just know that going in and if the default flashing is ok or if you use their built in timer you’re good to go. I don’t use or want to use that so had to return these for more basic lights without flashing (was giving us headaches watching the default flashing).

Good lights, problem connecting more than 4 strands
Pretty frustrated that this 5th set would not worked when plugged into the 4th set in series. I figured I could work around this by plugging into same power supply and when turned on at the same time, both the 4 set strand and single set strand would match in lighting pattern. They do not. I even swapped control boxes several times in effort to get timing to match, without great success. Lights look great but not being able to connect 5 strands, or more, together is pretty disappointing. Not to mention- paid for new 5th set and it came in original packaging with Amazon “second life” sticker. Lights looked unopened but did not meet “new” condition I paid for.

Must reset setting every time you turn them on
These lights work great, look great and have held up for 3 years now. However, we use them to line our porch roof and I want them to stay on the regular setting without flashing or switching through all of the settings. Our lights are on a timer, so once they shut off and come back on, they go through all of the settings continuously until I have to physically go out and reset to stay on. It is very annoying. Also, outs did not come with a remote.

Different light modes
These lights are wonderful, however I have mine attached to an automatic timer and these lights when they are turned on every night start with the combination light mode, and I have to go out and change the settings every night to have them on the setting I want. I wish that it was a memory style that would default to the prev. chosen mode.

Various functions, nice bright bulbs.
I like the length of the string and that you can connect multiple strands together easily.I like the C9 size of the bulbs and the brightness.I DO NOT like that when you turn the lights off and back on they do not return to the function they were set on. This is very disappointing since everytime you turn the lights on you have to reset them to the function you want.I would have returned them but I didn’t notice this until after the tree was fully decorated.

Have to Manually Turn On – Not Waterproof
Lights are fine, work well and match my other sets. However, there is one annoying problem: the LED transformer requires you to reach down and press the button and cycle through all the annoying blinking settings to get a solid display. So if your outdoor outlets are in an inconvenient spot, have fun trudging out in the weather to manually turn on your lights. Would be nice if it at least had an app or remote. Its also kind of ridiculous that the plug isn’t weather resistant. I guess you can only safely use them in warm climates where there’s no winter precipitation. To solve this, and the annoying manual settings, I purchased a new transformer that is waterproof with no button. However, the one I ordered doesn’t seem to work so I’m trying another brand. Will update if I can get the new one to work and solve these annoying problems.Update: swapped out the LED transformer to a basic one. While it technically works, the only setting is slow blink. So I guess it’s obnoxious Christmas rave or having to go outside every night and manually turn on the lights and cycle thru. They were cheap enough that it’s not worth all the effort to take them down and return them. And then order new ones and do it all over. Just a terrible product.

The bulbs are plastic which is a good thing don’t have to worry about cleaning up glass if one should break.. I am looking forward to having these around my deck this Christmas. I am using them with a small Fiber Optic Tree in seat window facing deck. I got these cheap buying the used in like new condition. I bought 3 sets. Only 1 set had to be returned for non working however I bought another set to replace the non working one.

Expensive for only one season
I got these lights and used them on a tree outside. There are many different light settings to choose from, which is great if you like flashing or alternating lights. Downside was that, unlike other brands, they don’t keep the selected setting and revert back to the first setting which is was Las Vegas type flashing lights. So they didn’t work with a timer.I was ok with that and I did like the larger candle bulbs. But they didn’t work 12 months later. Half the lights wouldn’t like no matter what setting, and orhers had the weakest glow like they were burning out.My photo shows them clustered together so you can see how many are out, if theses were spread apart on the tree they would look terrible, with lots of blank spots.I can’t use them. So I spent around $30 bucks for lights that I throw away after one season. The whole point of buying LED was to prevent replacing lights so often and reducing waste. Oh well.

Need to reset to desired mode everyday or they’ll continue to flash.
Light connections did not work. Ordered replacements and had the same problem. Only 2 of the 4 sets worked. Also, you need to reset the mode each day. We don’t care for the flashing lights, and they defaulted everyday. Other than that, the brightness and size of bulbs were really good.

Setting has a mind of its own.
Bought two sets, only one set will stay on the setting I want it on. Everytime we turn the lights off then back on again the other set starts doing what ever setting it wants, it won’t stay on what I set it too. So frustrating & inconvenient since they are already on the house.

Should have read the reviews before we bought. Steady on is not a default.
Once you turn them off or put them on an external timer, they default to the combination of all settings. It would be fine if you want to drive yourself and your neighbors crazy. We will stick with the built in timer otherwise we will have to reset each time. Why didn’t they have steady on as default?

Good but mode control is annoying
Really don’t understand why the default mode is not solid lights, but every time these are turned off (whether by a timer or unplugging) they reset to the default mode of cycling through all the modes. I just want them to always be a solid light but there’s no settings other than the single button. They do look nice and are very lightweight which made hanging them super easy.
