Very cool, but half the lights burnt out
Set on Thanksgiving night, and loved it! Very cool to able to connect with different colors and things. Unfortunately, it made it about a week before half of the lights in the star stopped working, so we had to rearrange the ones that work in the star to make the whole thing light up. Still looks okay, but not well crafted.

Buyer Beware – Not As Advertised
This is an origami-construction type decoration & doesn’t stay closed very well. It’s very cheaply made with either a hard paper or a cheap plastic. The light functionality is cool, but it looks BAD. This is something from the Oriental Trading catalog that is not worth $9, let alone what they’re charging. It also requires a USB block (ie: from an iPhone charger) to plug in. Unboxed it, boxed it back up in under 10 minutes. #CheapGarbage

Not at all what I hoped for.
It was so hard to get the pins to stay together at first – it stayed closed for a little while then it popped open again (so frustrating) the idea is there but the execution just isn’t there, mine seem rather dull and not at all what I hoped for (when the silly thing stays closed for more than five minutes) overall could be good but it’s kinda rubbish.

Made out of paper like substance and no instructions on assembly
So when I unwrapped this package the box was smaller. Come to find out that the Star is folded up and needs to be unfolded. Helpful for storage. Unfortunately the star is almost made out of a thinner cardboard so I don’t really trust how long it will last. Also don’t know what is making it smell but it smells similar to hamster pee. Very specific but if you know you know. Also no instructions on the app or otherwise on how to put it together for the tree topper/ dangling star. Finally go it after messing with it a bit but would be nice to have instructions

Too pastel, but im keeping it.
Hard to get vibrant colors besides red. Many just are pastel no matter how u select them. But that being said I love it, and am going to keep it. Just using red.

It’s Beautiful!
We love our tree topper! It’s just magical looking & has tons of different settings to play around with. The cord is long, clear and easy to hide running down the center of the tree and then out at the bottom to a receptacle. The remote is nice to have to operate or turn off/on without having to unplug each time. It can also be controlled by an app on your phone which I haven’t tried yet. The price is incredible considering how many functions this tree topper has. I definitely would recommend to friends & family!

I was apprehensive at first, because most reviews show the versatility of the colors and light patterns etc … which is awesome by the way, but I wanted a more traditional look for my tree this year (but want the option to change theme from year to year) and this is perfect on my traditional tree theme this year and years to come!!!!! ❤️🌟🎄

If you’re already here…
…you just need to put it in your cart and checkout! The best feature of tree. This year I wanted a whole new revamp so each family member picked a color(purple, indigo, black and white) and a topper was the hardest to tie in. Welllllll, this topper will go with any decor ever, so many options and the play to music feature is amazing! It is definitely the “STAR” of the show, my entire family loves our topper.

Awesome
Tried several toppers but this one is by far best. Hopefully it will last thru Christmas. Didn’t expect much for price but it really is better than expected. Stand is eh… used white zip ties to help hold it on tree but for the price can’t be perfect. Definitely would recommend. Also, has a usb cable will need like a 5v plug for it to plug into. Got the 12” says 15” on box for 9’ tree.

Absolutely awesome
The remote is trash but I downloaded the app. Its has tons of presets and you can design your own. It is flat but unfolds to make a large star. Would make a great night light in a bedroom.

It’s nice but music functions stopped working after two days
There is a function where the lights change with music or sound. This was what my kids like the most. It stopped working after two days but other light functions work. It was also very awkward to put together. I wouldn’t purchase again but it did the job. Doubt it will be usable next Xmas.

I’ve purchased many tree toppers. This one is reasonably priced, lightweight, easy to stand, and love the remote-control option to change to multiple colors and light activity. I haven’t tried using the music option, but I’m sure it’s cool.

Liked it so much I bought a second one
These stars are wonderful. Very bright and colorful. The remote comes with several different color variations. There’s also a free app with several dozen more presets along with the option to create you own color combos and animations. I originally bought it for outside and got a second one for our indoor tree.Assembly; doesn’t have directions. Its relatively straight forward though. For anyone using the tree topper; the metal fork goes inside the star, not resting the star on top. That wasn’t clear at all.It’s advertised as indoor/outdoor but I’m not sure I’d trust it unsheltered outdoors. Its made from a plastic material but not sealed; I expect water could get into it. Also has a USB connection. I have mine hanging outside under a porch and it’s been fine for several weeks now. But I wouldn’t set it up out in the open.I do wonder how tough the plastic is. I wouldn’t hang it where a child/animal would mess with it as I could see it getting broken that way. But at the top of the tree or otherwise out of reach, fine.I easily synced the star to my phone (android) via the app. Works great. The sync to music is a little questionable; it works but hard to tell if it’s truly matching the music. But the ability to created custom designs is neat.Overall beautiful star, fun to play with.

Big and colorful
We got many compliments on it, it’s very nice and large for our big tree. Only thing is the metal holder is much too heavy so we removed it and just wrapped branches around it to put it on.

I enjoyed playing with the different modes for the lights. the one where it synchs to music is my favorite. It won’t last forever, but hey, it was $25, so I’m not expecting real durability.

Not outdoor worthy, but really a cool product.
This thing looks spectacular, but it did not survive outside.I used it for topping an outdoor xmas tree.I carefully wrapped and sealed the controller portion in a bag, but it still didn’t survive a few rainstorms.

Stops working
The star stopped working. Won’t switch modes won’t turn off just flickers. It was good for a few weeks, turning off during the day and then on at night. About ready to put decorations away and It will not do anything. For a single season use this is really expensive. Don’t buy

Dramatic patterns and app with very in-depth customization

This steo spce LED Christmas tree star is quite an RGB light. It’s reasonably sturdy on the tree and has a ton of patterns and options.The light itself seems flimsy at first but it’s reasonably solid once unfolded and secured (see photo of how base goes on). If you make sure each point doesn’t have folds along the edges it holds together. It’s made of translucent (frosted) white plastic so the color diffuses. The LED strings in the lights stick out the end a little, which is visible up close, and can get caught on things.The remote has basic solid color selection, pattern selection with many direct access buttons to particular patterns, pattern speed control, microphone modes, DIY modes you’ve made, and timers to turn off after a set time.It uses the SurpLife app, and doesn’t work with the popular Tuya and Smart Life apps. It takes about 10 seconds to connect to the light each time. The app is absolutely the best I’ve seen when it comes to options and customization.The app has a basic static pattern editor that lets you set the color of each point and you can actually save your setups. It has many dynamic patterns, every one of which can be edited. If you go to Settings->Default Scene scroll down and select Explosive Star, then the pattern previews will be for the star and not a generic string of lights. For even more detailed editing it has a Scribble editor that lets you set the color of each individual LED, and apply some animation to those. It has some great features like easily adding gradients to sections of lights, multi-undo and redo (so useful for experimenting), setting up individual lights to flash, and saving all this to a named creation.There is a music mode with a lot of presets and an editor for customizing it, but I found that the mic wasn’t very responsive to music. It was all-or-nothing, didn’t pick up much music, and flashed even when there was silence.It has another novel feature, a playlist of patterns (including DIY ones you make), where each one shows for a settable time then the next. It allows easy editing and rearrangement, and it works even when the phone isn’t connected to the lights.I measured 3.5W power usage with full brightness (0.6A) so it will work with any modern USB power adapter. I checked for flicker and measured none, even when dimmed.

Pretty and lots of options, sizeable as well
I got this intending to use it on a Christmas tree and I’m still planning on trying it out that way, but given it’s size I’m not sure it’s going to work. It is very colorful and I like how many different settings it has. It can be used in lots of different ways, not just holidays. It is made of a thin plastic so storing it probably requires keeping the box it came in. I look forward to using it in various ways.

It’s okay
The topper is pretty once on the tree, it comes with a remote so you can change the colors of the lights but when you put it together its made of very cheap plastic and it starts to pull apart where you hook it together.

At first me and my son were a little bit unsure we were like what kind of topper is this but after further investigation we opened it up and lit it up and it was so cool. The colors are not your traditional colors which is what I like about it It does all kind of different patterns, different things you can have the app or use the remote control. When Christmas is over I’m taking it off my tree and I’m hanging it up in my room That’s how much I like it lol.

Nice star
Really a great addition to our tree. My wife likes to change themes of the tree every year.This year it is her late Dad’s University of Texas ornaments, with burnt orange ribbon and snowflakes, and white ribbon and snowflakes. The star made the tree so much more special this year. It her first full Christmas time without him and I can tell it has meant a lot to her to have the ornaments up, and the star matching has made it that much more special.This star has made life easy because I can pretty well match whatever she comes up with now.The kids love to run by and set it to one of the color change settings, and those are awesome too.
